Advanced MIG Welding

Description

Take your welding skills further with this project-based class designed for students who have completed Intro to MIG Welding and Metal Shop Safety (or have previous basic welding experience). In this workshop, you’ll practice running weld beads in the four fundamental welding positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead) while using tools from both the metal shop and welding area such as the cold saw, plasma cutter, belt sander, angle grinders, and MIG welders. By the end of the class you’ll create a unique “metal log” made from layered practice beads that showcase your welds in each position. Students are encouraged to continue adding beads and refining their project during open shop time.
